God is MOVING!
[info]debirth85
Saturday night Lennon came over to my house to stay. It was a great catch up as we spoke our hearts out in my room. I really miss those days where our brotherhood was so strong. Lennon, Colin, Kehan, Sam and I.  Those were the days. I still remember when I first become Sam's sheep. Felt so honored and happy. I can't deny that things are kind of different now as some of us are heading our own way. But I wonder, won't it be good for us to sometimes put away our opinions and responsibilies and joke, have fun and chill like in the past? Thanks Lennon for reaffirming this brotherly love. I do treasure you a lot too. =)

God is MOVING! Revival is coming! Here are some happenings when I start to seek God! It happens all on monday morning.
  • Rex told me that his friend want to receive Christ during breakfast with him at Yakun
  • Robin msned me saying that he wanted to be a shepherd to serve
  • Augustine smsed me saying that he wanted to take care of someone
  • Edision shared Christ with Zijian over MSN. He CONVERTED!
I am going to continue to seek God for the direction of the groups. Miracles are going to explode in NSB4&5.

Lastly, lets welcome Victor and Kwan Sheng to our group. We love you brothers!

Baking Class
[info]debirth85
Went for Church History class yesterday. The class was conducted by Sze Wei, one of our church staff. It was at least an eye opener for me on how the church from the past evolve and develop until today. My objectives of attending Church History is that I want to understand more on how so many denominations started so that I will be better equipped to share to the pre-believers.

Well, I woke up with lots of excitement today! Because... it is my first lesson of my baking class! Went there with Ms. Chew. Thank God for her if not I will really feel out of place. Out of all 40 students, only 1 is of our age. The rest you should know are.... my mum's age. The aunties are really very enthusiatic in learning, most of them ask a lot of questions and volunteer to help up the teachers. Today we learnt how to bake Coconut Tarts and Rich Chocolate Cake. Not bad! Look forward to the rest of the lessons.

At night will be going Bedok85 with Jen, Jon. Lee, Joceyln, Ritchie, Xueting for supper!

Mr Richard Goh - Shifu!

Caramel

I had shepherding with my dear sheep at Caramel on thursday. I love the cosy environment there and the service. Excellence!! The cakes are all displayed out in an attractive manner which makes me feel like ordering ALL. But in the end, we only ordered Mango Mascarpone & Chocolate Pauline Cake. Roar! Everything was great except those free sweets by the table. One word for the sweets, exotic. I spitted it out.

Edison and I blessed Meihwa with a slice of cake, Opera dot dot dot.

I am uber tired now. Spent the entire night to do up the caregroup bulletin and after that rush out my fyp website. Madness~

Someone's birthday is coming!!

A Joyous Occasion
[info]debirth85
Sunday was really a joyous ocassion. 3 of our beloved brothers decided to obey God and be water baptised! They were none other than Robin, Yimian and Zhongsheng. Clap clap! They will be the future Godly man who will do great things for God and be obedient to God everyday of their life. Can't you see the glow on their face? God's glory!!

He Sei Hui (Yes Zhongsheng, I know you are cool. LOL)

Bai Ma Wang Zis

After water baptism Eilton, Edison, Rayson, Zhongsheng, Binghong, Rex, Yimian, Robin, Huimin and I went to Manhattan Fish Market for early dinner. Guess what, the core team decided to give the water baptisees a treat and as for the rest, we subsidised half for their food. Wahaha! Everyone was eating happily. That is the power of CG Fund. LOL!!  Thank God Zhongsheng didn't order the Large Lobster which was $70+. Phew.. Haha! Anyway the food at Manhattan were great. Let me introduce some to you.

Manhattan Fish & Chips - STAR STAR STAR

Flaming Platter for One - STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR

Garlic Butter Museels - Unlimited STAR (THIS IS REALLY GOOD!)

Just came back from Toa Payoh Mac. Met Shareen to have coffee together. We shared about strategies for caregroup growth and discuss how to handle difficult issues in caregroup. Was really refreshed by the sharing and was very inspired by her conviction to learn and her effort in giving to and building the group up. Look forward to seeing your caregroup explode exponentially!

I got another free 2 movie tickets for Harry Potter. Who got the privillege this time.. Tada.. EPHRAIM.

Revival is coming to our group people. Hold on tight and lets do this together!! Donald needs all of you. Yes, you!! Don't look else where.. YOU!!

Something BIG is Going to Happen!
[info]debirth85
Wednesday's meeting was great! Edison's dad prepared a lot of food to bless us. Curry chicken, prawns, shao rou with celeries, fried rice, noodles and etc. Fei blessed us with the very very famous Far East's Chicken! Uber delicious~. After dinner we spent some time waiting and worshipping the Lord and hearing from Him. Like what in Psalm 24 says (paraphrase), "Who can ascend the hill of the Lord, only those with clean hands and a pure heart." It is God's desire to see such generation place Him first among all things. I challenged them to place God in the center of their lives and not manipulate God to fit into their lives. TNSB4 & 5 shall wrestle for spiritual blessings and encounters just like how Jacob wrestled with God and how faith-filled the people were in Luke 5. Amen?

Luke 5:18-20   "18 Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven.""

Although the attendance was low because some fell ill, I wasn't discouraged at all. It shows that something big is going to happen in the 2 groups that is why Satan has to attack. He has no choice! We are threatening the enemies! I am really filled with anticipation about what God is going to do in our group.

Went Ben's house yesterday morning to disturb him. Haha! It is my privllege man! It has been such a long time since I been to his place. Not much changes though. I learnt more technics of keyboard playing from him. His fingers is still as magical as ever. So.... I cut off 3 of his fingers and had them as my breakfast (see below).  Blood is dripping on the floor as he was bringing the breakfast to me. Thank you Ben! It was a meaningful time spent sharing about ministry growth and encouraging one another. It really encourages me a lot to see your conviction in serving in the pastoral ministry. God will prosper you and your group!

Bread, milk and 3 fingers from Ben

See some familar faces? =X

Spiritual Awakening!
[info]debirth85

On my way to Vivocity to meet Edison for dinner, I met Gabriel from adults in the train. He was my multimedia minstry head last time.  Had quite a great chat with him over issues in adults. We are having a male gender crisis! I am very convicted to win more males into the kingdom. Our sisters serve very hard in the church and they shouldn't be short-changed amen? Haha! Hold on sisters! More spiritual guys will be available soon because we are in the NS ministry! Committed to build strong guys leaders for God. My group got quite a few eh, Edison, Ephraim and ME MYSELF and I. Richard also not bad, but too bad he is taken. Haha!

I had a great time spent with Edison over at Vivocity. Pampered myself a little. Bought this knitted top from Pull and Bear. The weather is getting cold. After dinner Edison and I went over to Bakerzin to have shepherding. Edison ordered Warm Chocolate Cake for himself and I ordered Cookies and Cream Cheesecake. Simply Irresistable. I still prefer his to mine.

I shared a teaching on Recipe for Spiritual Growth and we both learnt much. It is time for us to open up our spiritual eyes to see things differently. It is time for us to hunger for spiritual encounters. It is time for us to have a spiritual awakening. We are spiritual being therefore we should seek for spiritual things.

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.
16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
17 And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

We need to be like Elisha who doesn't look at the difficult and threatening situations. We need to tap on God's divine power and fight from victory. We have the whole army of God with us. If we get this right, the way we approach ministry and the way we shepherd our sheep will be very different because God promises victories and hope.

I am very excited of what God will do in the hearts of my cg members later in the evening. We will be having a combine caregroup meet at Edison's house. Move in the hearts of your people now Lord even when they are resting. Holy Spirit moves!

Unspeakable Joy!!
[info]debirth85
I am at Serangoon Mac spending my own private time.

Had a great dinner with Edison and Rex at Serangoon Garden Chomp Chomp yesterday. It was raining so heavily and I was cheated there. There goes my Sunday blockbuster movie "The War of the World". LOL. Anyway, dinner was on them so it is still ok. HAHA! We saw a TP sister there dining with her parents too. Hope people are everywhere.

After filling our stomach with all the seafood, we went to ICE3 Cafe - ice cream, dessert cafe to chill. The dessert there are fantastic and tempting! Too bad my stomach can't store much. Haha. These were what we ordered. Tada!

Banana Rumba

Cookie Crunch

MINE! Desert and Ice Cream Crepe (Caramel Sauce, Bananas, Walnut and Cookie & Cream Ice Cream)

More blessings from God today! Guess what?! I got distinction for another of my module! Thank you God!! Indeed when you put God first God will take care of your life. This is the 3rd distinction God gave.

Felicia and Mingxiu are back in Singapore. WELCOME HOME! Later will be having a group dinner with Felicia at Chomp Chomp. Gonna eat and eat again.

Lastly I wanna wish Meihwa a Happy Birthday! Thank you for being such a great friend and a great listener. I appreciate you a lot. Continue to work towards your Hot Babe dream.  LOL.

God's Grace
[info]debirth85

All of a sudden comes so many girls in my group. Was thinking what is the best plan for them and how to help them. Though I am not a girl but I know that they are precious soul to God too and they are lovely. Helppppppppp!

Met Alina yesterday morning for breakfast at Ang Mo Kio drive-thru mac to catch up. Nothing beats the $2.50 value set! My core team and I are on a saving project so that the caregroup can be blessed much more. Especially those with financial needs. We learnt about Grace and probably the question to ourselves is, how much so we really understand God's grace? This lesson was taught by Nel to me years ago and it totally change my life. If we truely understand God's grace the way we live our life, the things we say, the actions that we do and the decisions that we made will no longer be the same. It does not come easy and isn't it true that sometimes we really take things for granted?

Well, why $2.50 meal? Weeks ago I witnessed 2 shabily dressed foreign workers who never been to mac before ordered only 2 normal burgers and a small coke to share. I felt so.. blessed.

Oh yar! Things are happening! Revival is here! Junhao, Fei and Baoren are slowly connecting to Richard's side! Kimberly is coming for service this weekend! Jianfeng is working with Maymay to bring Wilson in! Ephraim has a very possible contact which is coming for service soon! Zhongsheng (New-believer) is going to share Christ to his friend! Kenneth is getting connected to the caregroup! And more and more and more!!

Going to have lunch with Cheryl at Tanjong Pagar, Amara Hotel! Woo! She says the curry chicken there is nice. Ciao!

This is Cheryl, my beloved!               Did I just say beloved? I will never deny her! DON'T FORCE ME!

Ephraim is pro when it comes to Sushi. He knows everything. BUT, you wouldn't want to go for a Sushi buffet with him because IT KILLS!

Terrorist or G.I.Joe? Confusion..     This is confirm a joker! oh my, why my room!

Cadbury's Crunchie Bar, A MUST TRY!!
[info]debirth85
On my way to Sentosa to meet Cheryl, Ryan, Binghong and Vincent, I decided to drop by Candy Empire at Habourfront to buy my caregroup all-time favourite chocolate bar, Cadbury's CRUNCHIE bar! You guys should try it man, awesome!  The inside is like ting ting tang of the olden days? Eh, you know the white ting ting candy? lol

While I was still in a confusion state of which candy to choose (how I wish every candy is at 99cents), a familar red bag caught my eye. Guess who I saw?? Miss Ezri Chew with a handful of tibits, AS USUAL! Anyway the biscuits she bought was really not bad, good for rewarding yourself in the midst of studying for exam.

After done with all the purchases, we travel to Sentosa to meet our respective group people.

I left early to follow-up on Zhong Sheng with Ephraim at Boon Lay. It was a very very long ride and it has been ages since I stepped into Jurong Point. The renovation and changes were so massive that I somehow got lost in Jurong Point. It is real big ok! Sisters, I bet you will love it or may even want to pitch tent there. Haha!

I gave Zhong Sheng a teaching on repentance and learnt so much myself too. I shall not just be conscious of my sin, doing it religiously, trying to be a good man by my own strength or just knowing biblical truth. I want to please God with my heart.

God Rocks!!
[info]debirth85

God never never fails to answer our prayer. First, we hit our goal of 11 the last quarter and this quarter we hit our goal of 19! We even broke it with 20!! This is one of the best testimony I had for last week as I see how God pours in when the caregroup are all ready to contain and to love His people.

Last friday I really had a great time at Alina's house with my core team to discuss the caregroup plans and strategies for the next quarter. The meeting lasted from 1am to 7.30am the next morning. We had a lot of input and everyone contributes. I challenge each and everyone of them to use their talents and giftings to serve the caregroup. It will be so so so sooo powerful! Imagine each of us has different giftings, how wholesome and dynamic the caregroup can be.

After the super fun and entertaining caregroup on Sunday, I went down to Tiong Bahru having the intention to celebrate our dear brother Benson's birthday with Lennon and Kehan. Well, he didn't turned up in the end. Had a fun time crapping with Lennon and Kehan at Sakae Sushi. We got a real special discount. Shall not disclose. Haha!

My prayer now is that i will do well for my exam and that the group will grow from glory to glory. Nel, you can have your 26 pratas soon!

Party Poppers!
[info]debirth85
I PASSED MY FINAL THEORY! Phew! Finally able to retake my practical test. I failed once, I wouldn't fail it again.

Time to relax at some cafe! I love reading books there. Ciao!

Training for Standard Chartered Marathon
[info]debirth85

Last night was officially the start of my training for Standard Chartered Marathon. It has been a long time since I really let my sweat out. I love jogging alone because it makes me not compete with others, but myself. I was reminded of what the Bible wrote, that we have to complete the race that God has specifically design for us and not be out of the race. Running alone is challenging because no one is there for you to pace or encourage you. If we don't keep track of our own pace, soon we will find ourselves in a cruising mode in life. Hungry cab drivers were everywhere on the street waiting to devour me. I love fighting against complacency and pushing myself towards my destination. But I admit I need to slap myself because I stopped for 10 seconds for a kitten!! The worst is it ignored me. - . -

Planted my flag at Ang Mo Kio MRT station and began jogging back. My old injury came and I had to drag my right leg for a good distance of 100 metres before God took the pain away. He must be saying, "Son, don't give up!" It really makes a difference when God spurs you on. My journey back was faster than my jouney there.

Home (Toa Payoh) to Ang Mo Kio: 29 minutes 23 seconds
Ang Mo Kio to Home: 26 minutes

Though the timing isn't that fantastic, I will continue to run! Never be out of race.

Mission Impossible
[info]debirth85
Edison & Alina overnighted at my house on friday to embark on a "mission impossible" campaign. Alina prepared the dinner and both of us baked a cake for Alina's shepherd, Jolene. We baked Blueberry Cheesecake! Please scream. The taste was like, oh gosh! To try our cheesecake, please place your order in heaven. (Incase you are figuring out, it means it tasted heavenly)

Why isn't Edison's name mentioned? (Because he was snoring in my room.) Haha

The chef. It is good to have her around because she cleans up everything.

i
Alina named it 'Simonia'. Everything tastes nice, including the lemon.

Bananas with chocolate sauce!

Before (Sorry for the fingers)                              After (Tada!) Blueberry Cheesecake!

I love you people!

I can't sleep because it just feel like God has poured his version of Tobasco in my heart. I just want to tell God how much I love him and need him. I want to be still and know that you are God.

When we walk right with God, things will naturally happen. We don't have to  really pray for converts because I'm pretty sure that God loves people more than we do. What we need to do is to prepare ourselves and make sure we are ready to take care of those lost sheep that are to come. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Over the past 2 months, I've seen the tremendous patience, boundless grace, and bottomless mercy God has for me. LOL.

First Edison came to know Christ and he brought Alina in. The week after I've received news that ED's dad came to receive Christ too! ED & Richard later brought another of their friend Yanda in and last week Kenneth brought Aaron in. Just yesterday, I received news from ED and Alina that Zijian & Rayson is crossing their line of faith soon! When God works, he really works. It is really about walking right with God.

I am glad that ED and Alina have grown so much too. It just feels uber good to be with them. Oh, did I mention that ED has incredible built? Arnold Schwarzenegger look-alike. Please show some interest in his rock collection next time you see him. Alina is very entertaining. She smiles great.

There are many things that I need to trust God in and tackle too. Many major decisions to make and problems to solve. Sometimes it is just overwhelming to know too many things and I guess the only solution is to talk to God.

One thing i learnt about birds. When strong wind comes, they can continue to sleep without being disturbed. The reason? Just by bending the joint of their legs, they will be able to grip the branches so tightly without letting go.

It applies to our walk with God. Man who are on their knees are the strongest. Amen!

Off for lunch with Mingxiu! Such privillege. Haha!!

Livejournal is really testing my patience, took 10 minutes to get into the "post an entry" page.

Saturday was a very very enjoyable and impactful day. Went for Zeph's company family outing event at Singapore Flyer early in the morning. I was half-awake when I reached City Hall MRT. It was 7.30am! Zeph's dad drove us to Singapore Flyer with his newly purchased BMW! Most of its functions are automated and... I would love to get one too. Please God.... Wahaha!

Kokhow, Peiqi, Zeph & I had lots of fun. We went around trying all the stuff at the "mini carnival" and took gigabytes of photos. It was my first time riding on Singapore Flyer and the experience was wonderful, but I won't go for the second time if I have to pay. Haha. We end off the morning with a free buffet at one of the restaurant there. Thanks for the invitation Miss. Lau!!

I went home immediately to take a 30 minutes power nap to restore my energy for service. I was filled with anticipation on how God is going to move in the service everytime I serve on stage. Worship is such a power element where people's lives get changed when Holy Spirit visits. We need to claim God's victory over every single area of our lives and ministers to the people as musicians.

Hope Bangkok's worship team came too to evaluate our p&w. They are our role models and they are people who are very close to our heart. Band 1 loves you!

God has been working evidently in my group these few weeks. 2 weeks ago, Edison came to know God. Last week, Edison brought his friend, Alina to service and she came to know God too. Next week Alina is going to bring her friend and Richard is going to bring his another friend too. It is so powerful when God works.

My heart desire is to see the broken-hearted find their hope in God.

God, use me.

Conversion!!
[info]debirth85
Today is my off day & I've decided to make it my Sabbath day too to spend some time with God and to read the Word. In the afternoon I was listening to the sermon by Joyce Meyer on 'Habits of an effective Christian' which she teached about making good habits & breaking bad habits. I so agree with her on the point about practising habitually. Things that passes through our mind doesn't mean we have gotten it. We need to practise. Practise how to teach, how to share the gospel, how to lead & etc. And what slapped me straight on the face is about doing things routinely. I responded to work towards wanting to than having to. I don't have to pray, I don't have to go the church, I don't have to evangelise, but I want to!

I was compelled by the Spirit to travel down to TP to share the gospel and so I msged Ben if he would like to go down to TP during late evening time with me. My initial plan was just to share the gospel to renew my faith and to challenge myself to obey Luke 12:8 "If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I, the Son of Man, will openly ackowledge that person in the presence of God's angels." But when God works, God really works. We made a prayer to boost our courage and began our mini prayer walk in TP in search for anyone that is alone and we came across this guy who happened to be studying alone in applied science school. So Ben and I took the step of faith to approach him to share the gospel. Ben began the conversation by asking him (Vince) some questions about life and then slowly bringing God into the picture. Vince responded very positively and when he told us that he is trying to get influenced by his friend who is a Christian, and is very curious about her committment to Church & her character, our heart began to pump very fast! It is God's divine intervention, I reckoned! I immediately shared to him the bridge diagram and asked him if he would want to receive Jesus into his life and tada!, he said yes!! We lead Vince in the sinner's prayer and he converted!

I am so glad that I obeyed the Spirit to go the extra mile and to apply the fundamentals of Christianity. If God is so real, I will want to give my 110% everyday to Him. May God have all the glory!

Richard enlisted into SCDF yesterday and on monday evening, Eilton, Kokhow, Randall and I had a final farewell for him. We were treated KFC and Swensen!  You must be thinking why it is not the other way round right? You can go ask Eilton and Kokhow about it, I've no idea too. My poor sheep. Haha! Anyway, I know that Richard will definitely be a salt & light in camp as he continue to live his life with Godly character and integrity. Shall enjoy Hellboy II with him on Saturday.

Instead of going to Kallang to join Colin, Ritchie, Meihwa and Joel on Friday night, Richard, Xueting & I decided to head down to Geylang for FOOD. I really do not know why I am always eating. Nevertheless, we made the right choice. Settled down at a very crowded Dim Sum shop down the street. No complains, the dim sum is kidda special and of course nice. Has been long since I really get to sit down and have a proper meal with Xueting. Really missed out those days in TP when we served God together. If you ask me which woman I respect & admire most in church, one of them is her. 5 years serving fervently in pastoral ministry is not easy at all and more over all her generation has left TP. I admire her spiritual hunger, holy discontentment, character &  perserverance and love for her people. Jiayou!

Work has been really tiring, but spiritually I am on fire! I look forward to attempting bigger things for my mighty God. What we are doing now is just a dot of the big picture. Use me to shake the world! God gave Adam the Garden of Eden. The world is ours! Take lead.
